Character: BlackWarGreymon / Black
Timeline: Dark Ocean arc / post Kyoto Dragon (Episode 37).
Personality:
BlackWarGreymon has a rather fiery personality from the get-go. He is obstinate, proud, and quick to the draw. Another side of him which quickly consumes him is a yearning for purpose, showing his strength, and a constant struggle with emotions; something that supposedly only humans and true Digimon have. Because of his resolute nature, he is determined to accomplish his goal to be the most powerful, even at the expense of forsaking the finer points of life like friendship, appreciating beauty, and honor. For a Digimon who seems to value honor and justice above all else, the BlackWarGreymon created by Arukenimon seems more like a child with angst issues. He is very much a blank slate and absorbs much of what he’s been told, and luckily much of the things he takes to heart are from the well meaning Digidestined partners and the Sovereigns who rule the world.
As far as interactions go, Black is fairly stagnant and standoffish. If someone were to approach him and initiate conversation he would probably listen without response. However, anything deep and meaningful would be certain to get him going. If you are fortunate enough to gain him as an ally he is a stalwart comrade and will fight by your side until the end. Unless of course you and he are just enjoying the breeze on a hot summer day, he would be just as content doing those things too.
Something that should be mentioned is that he has a very fierce temper. If you succeed in ticking him off you will have a hell of a time shaking him. A serious offense will result in his going berserk and destroying everything in sight, usually in the process of getting to you. When he is determined to do something all would be wise to get out of the way, and this stands for his disagreements and his resolutions, as well.
Background:
BlackWarGreymon is a synthetic Digimon, what is called a Control Spire Digimon created from 100 Control Spires by his maker, Arukenimon. Arukenimon seems to have an ability called the Spirit Needle, which when activated uses numbered strands of hair to create a Digimon from Dark Towers (Control Spires) that stand all over the Digimon World.
He was created to stop the Chosen Children, the children destined to defeat the evil Digimon and restore peace, but BlackWarGreymon would have none of this. He seemed to develop a will of his own and turned up his nose at his maker, shunning her and her ally Mummymon by virtue of the fact that they were weak and not worthy of his help.
Much of the Digidestined’s encounters with this ultimate level Digimon were losses against his power which exceeded anything they had faced thus far in their travels. His techniques are the use of dark energy channeled through his body to create a great fireball (Gaia Force/Terra Destroyer), spinning rapidly to generate a whirlwind and forcing his body into his opponent (Black Tornado), and using his sharp metal gauntlets called the Dramon Killers to fight, and impair other dragon type Digimons (Dramon Killer).
However, much of BlackWarGreymon’s wanderings are journeys of finding himself and soul searching. He encounters the Agumon partner belonging to Taichi Yagami, convincing himself a heart is of no use to him on his missions, and the question of whether or not he was granted one upon his birth, not being a Digimon born in Primary Village like other Digimons but a creation of evil. Agumon does his best to become friends with the dragon type and tries to convince him of the virtues of having a soul when they are interrupted by a battle over the Holy Stones, in which the Digidestined attempt to save these stones to protect the order of the world. The Holy Stones seem to awaken a ferocious drive in BlackWarGreymon to destroy them all and do what the Destined feared: disrupt the balance of the world and free the powerful Digimon whom are responsible for planting the stones. He seeks the most powerful Digimon in all of the world to fight him so that he can prove he belongs at the top, and defines it as his purpose for existence.
Several failed attempts at stopping the rampaging Digimon result in a climactic battle at the final stone. The Destined have grown in power and out of their hope a new Digivolution came to them in the form of Shakkoumon, a Digimon big enough and strong enough to absorb BlackWarGreymon’s fire. This results in Black’s mortal wounding and his containment by the Digimon Sovereign who is released by the final destiny stone, Chinronmon (Azulongmon), the dragon defending the east of the Digimon World. The Digidestined freed him with their digivices and Chinronmon finally speaks some sense into the disgruntled BlackWarGreymon, who then takes his fellow dragon’s words to heart and flees to another dimension. Digimon fans speculate that he flees to the Dark Ocean to continue his personal pilgrimage. This transition, however, seems to be when Black is transported to Paradise…
Abilities/Additional Notes:
Besides aforementioned special abilities all species of BlackWarGreymon possess, he also uses telepathy to interact much like his good counterpart WarGreymon.
He can target a single individual with his voice or project his telepathy across a radius like regular speaking. He has the ability to fly, whether this ability is given to him by the Brave Shield he wears on his back or by some kind of telekinesis is unexplained. His Dramon Killer gauntlet blades are made of Chrome Digizoid, the strongest material in the Digimon World. He is surprisingly swift despite all of his armor. His gold eyes are almost incredibly captivating and could strike fear in his enemies.

[Black appeared to be looking the device over from side to side, front to back. The feed reflected this. Then the video was met with the scrutiny of his gold eyes, narrowed a little with apprehension.]
I can see the red light blinking. You can hear me, can’t you? I’ve seen your devices transport Digimon back to our world. If someone gets this message, return me to my world now.
[He pauses to allow some semblance of an answer from the phone. When he does not receive one, the phone is on the ground, and he is stalking off elsewhere.]
Sample RP: BlackWarGreymon had departed from the hospital. Nurses gave concerned looks but that was the extent of his interactions there. He was looking for answers and he would find them. A creature that didn’t eat, rest, or pause was wandering around the city from then on. The big dragon lifted himself into the air and alighted on a buildingtop, and it was like watching a deer pass over a high fence in its grace. He simply rested there, his eyes fixed on the square. Now it was just a waiting game, a watching game, gathering his thoughts until he was satiated with the task of discovering his whereabouts.
